Your child is struggling and you are worried about their well-being. There’s a path forward.

You know your child is capable of joy, connection, and confidence, but something’s getting in the way. You’ve tried to support them through big feelings, tricky behaviors, or emotional ups and downs, but it still feels like they’re carrying more than they can handle.

Play therapy can help.

At San Francisco Play Therapy, I work with children in a way that feels natural to them - through play. Whether it’s anxiety, emotional intensity, or a big transition, therapy gives kids space to process and grow, while giving you insights and tools to support them along the way.

NANCY WANG, LCSW, REGISTERED PLAY THERAPIST™

Counseling designed for children by a therapist who understands them.

I’m a child therapist in San Francisco who works exclusively with kids ages 3–14. I specialize in Child-Centered Play Therapy, a developmentally-appropriate approach that helps children process emotions, work through challenges, and build self-confidence.

Parents often tell me they feel a sense of relief after finding someone who truly understands their child’s needs. My focus is on meeting each child where they are, building trust, and helping them grow at home, at school, and in friendships.

More about me…

Child & Adolescent Therapy

I offer play therapy and counseling for children in San Francisco who may be struggling with anxiety, big emotions, friendship issues, or changes in their lives. Using a structured, child-centered approach, therapy is a space where kids can express themselves, practice coping skills, and discover new ways to handle life’s ups and downs.

Sessions may include play-based activities, art, sandtray, and skill-building exercises matched to your child’s needs. Parents are part of the process, with regular check-ins so you can see progress, understand what’s working, and bring those tools into everyday life. My goal is lasting emotional and social growth, not just quick fixes.
